Do Indian citizens need a visa for Nepal?
No. Indian citizens do not need a visa to visit Nepal. You need a valid Indian passport or a Voter ID card issued by the Election Commission of India. See our Nepal travel guide for Indians for details on children and other documents.
Can I pay in Indian rupees?
Our quotes for Indian travellers and agents are in INR. In Nepal, Indian rupee notes are widely accepted in tourist areas, but there are rules on which denominations can be carried. Check our travel guide before you go.
Do you arrange vegetarian and Jain food?
Yes. Pure-vegetarian and Jain meals can be arranged throughout, including on pilgrimage routes such as Muktinath.
Can you pick us up at the Indian border?
Yes. We arrange pickups at Sunauli–Belahiya (Bhairahawa), Raxaul–Birgunj, Kakarbhitta, Rupaidiha–Nepalgunj and other crossings, as well as Kathmandu and Pokhara airports.

What is the best time to visit Nepal?
October–November and March–May are the most popular months for clear views and pleasant weather. December–February is cool but clear. June–August is monsoon: green and fine for Kathmandu, Pokhara and Lumbini, but flights to the mountains are more often disrupted.
